Frequently Asked Questions

Picking a photographer, wedding or no wedding is a big deal, and we totally get that! We want you to feel comfortable and confident that we are not only the right fit for you, but that you can trust us and feel confident that we will take care of you. We created this page so that we could answer our most frequently asked questions, that way you can get an idea of how we work, what we offer, and so much more before you even say hi!

Where are you based and do you travel?

We are based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We absolutely love shooting weddings in the HRM and surrounding areas but we are always excited to travel to different destinations for weddings within Canada and around the world. Any travel further than 100/km from our home may be subject to travel fees. Depending on the location you can expect to pay for things such as mileage, accommodations, airfare and indicendals. Any weddings or elopements booked for locations on our bucket list will be discounted!


Do you shoot elopements?

OH. MY. GOODNESS. YESSS! We love, love, love elopements! They have a very special place in our hearts as we eloped ourselves. We love the intimacy of elopements, they allow you to be true to yourselves, to celebrate your love without all of the pressure that comes with planning a big wedding. If you are even thinking of eloping, reach out! We’d love to chat, help you weigh the pros and cons and help with planning your most perfect day ever.  


How early should we book you?

To be safe, we would suggest reaching out and booking 18-12 months before your wedding date. Some dates and months are more popular than others and sometimes will book out over a year in advance. With that being said, it’s totally possible to book us with less notice. We have booked weddings with less than 2 months notice so it’s always best to reach out to see if we are available for your date.


Do you both always work together?

Currently Yes. Right now, working together works best for us and our business. We both have two totally different shooting styles and perspectives that mesh so well together. Eventually down the road we may start taking on jobs individually but we don’t see that happening anytime soon. Plus, what’s better than getting to celebrate your love with our love almost every weekend?


How much should we expect to pay for wedding photography?

We offer a few different wedding packages to fit your needs, these base packages do not include add-ons or upgrades. On average, our couples tend to spend around $2,500-$3,000 + tax  on photography for their big day. Please contact us to get a copy of our full price list for more information!


How and when should we expect to receive our photos?

Depending on how busy we are with weddings, you can expect to receive your photos within 8 weeks from your wedding day. All images will be edited and delivered via an online gallery where you can download both hi-res and web-res photos for printing and sharing online with your friends and family.


Do you offer albums, prints and other products?

Yes we do! AND you can order all of your products directly from your gallery or we can order it for you. All prints and albums are printed and made here in Canada so you don’t have to worry about any extra fees and duties.


What kind of gear do you use?

We shoot with Nikon D750 and use mostly prime lenses (35mm, 50mm, 85mm) and a 70-200mm. We have speedlights (Flash) that we use typically just during your reception but will use them at other times when needed!


Do you have backup equipment?

Yes we do! We always have at least two camera bodies each and a few extra lenses in case something was to go wrong. Artificial lighting is also very important, especially if you are getting married in a dark venue! Don’t worry, we got you…we each bring 3 speed lights, one for each camera and an extra for emergencies as well as a strobe each for Off Camera Flash. A lot of batteries and SD cards are always in our bags as well. Don’t worry, we got you covered!


We want to book you, whats next?

In order to secure your date we require a signed contract and a 25% non-refundable deposit. Once both are received the date is officially yours, YAY! Fill out our contact form to get started on the booking process.

Do you only photograph weddings?

Nope! We shoot interiors, lifestyle sessions, portraits, headshots, products and more! Have something else in mind? Lets chat, contact us for more info!


Can you help us with our wedding day timeline?

Yes! Planning a wedding is lots of work and most times it’s hard to even know where to start! We work with you to create your wedding day timeline to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. Once you book, we also send you a wedding guide that will help you in the planning process and will give you an idea of where to start when it comes to your timeline.


How much do you want to be kept in the loop in regards to our wedding and the planning process?

We absolutely love being in the loop on your wedding planning progress! We want you to feel like we are more like friends than just your photographer. You can keep us as up to date as you’d like, however there are certain aspects that we do need to keep in touch about like your timeline, and other aspects which we will send out a questionnaire for two months prior to your big day! Shoot us a message whenever you’d like about whatever you’d like! We are super excited for your day too and we want you to feel like you can share your excitement with us!
